How is a 3D Abdominoplasty Performed?
Considered an outpatient procedure, a tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility, taking around two hours to complete. At the start of your surgery, an incision will be made that extends from one hip bone to another, giving Dr. Sawan full access to your midsection. Liposuction will be used to remove fat, and the abdominal muscles are pulled and tightly secured. The belly button is usually repositioned for natural placement, as well. From there, Dr. Sawan will address your lower back and flanks to ensure that both your front and back are symmetrical and achieve the look you desire.
What Can I Expect After a 3D Abdominoplasty?
After surgery, we will have you wear a compression garment for the duration discussed with Dr. Sawan in order to successfully heal. The first 48 hours should be devoted to rest. While you should do your best to move around in order to help promote blood circulation, you should only attempt to initially stand at a 45-degree angle in order to protect your incisions. Pain medication will be provided to help with any post-operative discomfort. You will probably notice some results immediately, but you should see full results as your swelling dissipates, which can take a few weeks.
